Off-Post Housing

Personnel who are authorized to reside off-post at Camp Humphreys have a wide variety of housing options to choose from that are within a short driving distance of the installation. Individuals relocating from another installation in Korea should contact their local housing office as soon as they receive notice of their unit’s relocation to find out more about their housing options at the gaining installation.

Personnel who are approved to reside off-post must go through a U.S. Forces Korea Registered Licensed Realtor to qualify their off-post housing allowance. To obtain contact information for registered licensed realtors in your area, please visit your local housing office. The realtor you select will be similar to a realtor and property manager in the US. They will show you various properties that are available and if you select one of those properties, the realtor’s role shifts into what a property manager or landlord does in the U.S. You will call the realtor if anything is wrong with your residence and they will work with the owner to take corrective action. Typically Soldiers will pay their rent to the realtors in Korean Won on a monthly basis. ATMs on post give the option of withdrawing dollars or Won. There are also several money exchangers outside of military installations in Korea.
