Family Readiness Groups
The 2ID Family Readiness Group (FRG) program is an official command sanctioned organization of Family members, volunteers and Soldiers belonging to a unit.
Any perceptions that FRGs are not required in the Republic of Korea are totally false.Effective FRGs have proven their value and serve as a great command tool.We have established MSC FRGs that are responsive to and well received by their commands.
Our FRGs include Families in the Republic of Korea and those not located in the Republic of Korea. They are linked closely with Army Community Services and other community support agencies in order to build strong Family Teams.
We use virtual Family Readiness group websites to assist us in sharing information; each battalion in 2ID has their own vFRG website which provides an avenue of mutual support and assistance, and a network of communications among the Family members, the chain of command and community resources.
FRGs contribute directly to peninsula organizations and Soldier readiness by establishing connections with all Families (CONUS and OCONUS), ensuring Family members residing in the Korea are prepared to evacuate (NEO), and supporting the mission by providing outreach and information to all Families.

Pear Blossom Family Outreach Centers
The Pear Blossom Family Outreach Centers deliver social support services for Area I spouses and children in a safe and secure gathering place. The Cottages simulate an "American-style" home, offering American-born spouses a familiar environment in a foreign land while exposing foreign-born spouses to American culture.
Some of the amenities provided include: washers/dryers, showers, TV/VCR, ovens, and play areas for children. The cultural diversity found at the Cottages creates an educational environment for all family members who visit.
In addition to social support, the Cottages provide opportunities for growth and self-sufficiency through classes and seminars. Information regarding cultural adaptation, financial planning and entitlements, stress management, employment skills, and healthy family functioning are provided, just to name a few. Educational and recreational outings are also offered to all interested family members.
There are Pear Blossom Family Outreach Centers on Camps Red Cloud, Stanley and Casey.
