Major General Hank Taylor graduated from Brigham Young University in 1991 and was commissioned as an Infantry Officer. He served in a variety of operational and institutional assignments, including the 17th Cavalry Regiment, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 21st Cavalry Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, 2nd Combat Aviation Brigade, 8th United States Army and The Joint Staff.
 
Major General Taylor has commanded at multiple levels throughout his career. He has participated in numerous operational deployments to the Middle East and the Republic of Korea. Prior to his assignment as Director, Army Aviation, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7, Major General Taylor served as Deputy Director for Regional Operations and Force Management, J-3, Joint Staff, Washington, DC. 
 
Major General Taylor’s awards include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Valorous Unit Award, Combat Action Badge, Master Army Aviator Badge, Master Parachutist Badge and Air Assault Badge.
 
Major General Taylor and his wife Cristen have six adult children and nine grandchildren.
