Brigadier General Kim, Jeong Hyeok graduated from the Korea Military Academy and was commissioned as an Artillery Officer in 1992. His professional military education includes the Artillery Basic Officer's Course, the Officer's Advanced Course, and the Army College. He holds a Bachelor of Chemistry from the Korean Military Academy. He obtained a master's degree in Weapon Engineering at National Defense University.
He served in various operational and strategic assignments, including the ROK-US Combined Forces Command, the 2nd Corps Artillery Brigade, the 22nd Infantry Division Artillery Regiment, the ROK Joint Chief of Staff, and the ROKG Blue House National Security.
General Kim Jeong Hyeok's awards include the Order of National Security Merit, US Army Pacific Certificate of Appreciation, Minister of Defense Award, Army Chief of Staff Award, and Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff Award.
He is married and has a daughter.
