Colonel Wade A. Germann is a native of Fairfax, VA and graduated from the Virginia Military Institute (VMI) in 1998. Upon graduation from VMI, he commissioned through the Reserve Officer Training Corps as a Second Lieutenant in the Field Artillery.
Upon completion of the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, Colonel Germann was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 7th Field Artillery, 1st Infantry Division where he served as a Company Fire Support Officer in 1st Battalion, 77th Armor, deploying to Kosovo in support of Operation JOINT GUARD, COLT Platoon Leader for 2nd Brigade, Platoon Leader in Charlie Battery, and the Battalion Fire Support Officer for 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry.
After completion of the Field Artillery Captains Career Course, Colonel Germann was assigned to the XVIII Airborne Corps, 1st Battlefield Coordination Detachment where he deployed to the Coalition Air Operations Center, Qatar in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. Following this, he was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division where he served as the Battalion Intelligence Officer and Bravo Battery Commander, deploying to Iraq in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.
Following completion of the Command General Staff College and School of Advanced Military Studies, Colonel Germann served as a campaign planner for the International Security Assistance Force Joint Command in Kabul, Afghanistan. After this deployment, he was assigned to the 1st Armored Division where he served as a Division Plans Officer, 212th Fires Brigade Operations Officer, 1st Armored Division Artillery Operations Officer, 1st Armored Division Artillery Executive Officer, and 1st Armored Division Deputy Fire Support Coordinator. Later, he was assigned to the 25th Infantry Division, where he served as the Deputy Fire Support Coordinator, and Commander of the 2nd Battalion, 11th Field Artillery.
Colonel Germann arrived to the Republic of Korea in 2020 first serving as 8th Army Chief of Current Operations at Camp Humphreys, then Commander of the 210th Field Artillery Brigade at Camp Casey from 2021 to 2023. He currently serves as the Chief of Staff, 2nd Infantry ROK-US Combined Division.
