Colonel Lance K. Calvert

Colonel Calvert graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1993 and was commissioned as a 2LT in the Aviation Branch. Following the Aviation Officer Basic Course and Rotary Wing Flight School, his first assignment was as a UH-60 Platoon Leader and Headquarters Company Executive Officer in the 4th Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division in Katterbach, Germany and deployed to Bosnia for IFOR in 1995-1996. Following the Aviation Officer Advanced Course he served as the Battalion Adjutant, Assistant S-3 and Commander of C Company, in the 2-10 Aviation Regiment, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York. After Company command he attended graduate school at the University of Rochester, earning an M.S. in Optics and served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics and Nuclear Engineering at the United States Military Academy.

Upon graduation from the United States Army Command and General Staff College, Colonel Calvert was assigned as the Battalion/Task Force S3 in 3-1 Assault Helicopter Battalion, 1st Infantry Division and deployed to OIF in 2007-2008. Upon his return he served as an Aviation Plans Officer and the G-8 for the Army Special Operations Aviation Command, USASOC. Colonel Calvert served as the Battalion Commander of 3-1 Assault Helicopter Battalion, 1st Infantry Division from 2011-2013 and then deployed as the Deputy Commander of the 10th Combat Aviation Brigade, 10th Mountain Division to OEF in support of RC-East and RC-North from 2013-14. Colonel Calvert then served as the Chief of Transformation for the Director of Army Aviation, HQDA G-3/5/7. He served as the Commander, 2d Combat Aviation Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, Republic of Korea from 2016-2018 followed by a tour with the Army Office of the Chief of Legislative Liaison at the Pentagon until June 2020. He is currently the Deputy Commanding Officer for Support in the 2nd Infantry Division, Republic of Korea.

Colonel Calvert is a graduate of the Aviation Officer Advanced Course, the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and the U.S. Naval War College. He holds a Master of Science in Optics from the Institute of Optics, University of Rochester and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College.

Colonel Calvert’s awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Master Aviator Badge, and Parachutist Badge.

Colonel Calvert is married.
